Accessibility statement
We want everyone to be able to use this website, whatever device, browser or assistive technology they use. Here is what we have done, what we know still falls short, and how to tell us about a barrier.
1. Our standard
We aim for this site to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at level AA. That goes beyond WCAG 2.0 AA, the level Ontario's accessibility law (AODA) requires of public-sector organisations and of businesses with 50 or more employees.
2. What we have done
- A "Skip to main content" link as the first thing you reach with the keyboard, on every page.
- Everything works with a keyboard, and the focused element always has a visible outline.
- A pause button on the scrolling lists, and no moving content for anyone who has turned on "reduce motion" in their device settings.
- Text alternatives for meaningful images, and decorative images hidden from screen readers.
- Headings and page landmarks that describe the structure, and labels on every form field.
- Body text that meets the 4.5:1 contrast ratio in both the light and dark themes.
- Pages that reflow on small screens and when zoomed, without sideways scrolling.
- The whole site in English and French.
3. Known limitations
- Home page intro. On a first visit the home page plays a short animation. Any key, click or tap skips it, and it never plays for visitors with "reduce motion" turned on.
- Call booking. The 15-minute call booking page is run by Google Calendar, and we don't control its accessibility. You can always book by email or phone instead.
- Client portal and documents. The client portal and older PDF documents haven't been fully reviewed yet. We will provide any document in an accessible format on request.
4. Feedback and help
If something on this site is hard to use, or you need information in another format, tell us:
- Email: contact@doodlesaveinc.com
- Phone: +1 (647) 548-7522
We aim to reply within one business day, and to fix reported barriers as quickly as we can. If we can't fix something straight away, we will give you the information another way.
5. Sites we build
Accessibility checks are part of every website we build. If your organisation has to meet AODA's WCAG 2.0 AA requirement, we state that level in your quote and test against it before launch.
6. How we checked
This statement is based on our own review: keyboard-only testing, screen-reader spot checks, contrast checks and testing with "reduce motion" turned on, across phone and desktop browsers. It has not yet been audited by an independent third party. We review it whenever the site changes significantly.
